Purchased in India in the early 80's this piece, from my own collection, is a wonderfully preserved writing board, used by children in school to take notes on the reverse. This one has a beautiful painting of Ganesh on the reverse in great early miniature painting style.  These are rare and hard to find now.  I used it for years as a bread board for special occasions.  This dates to the 19th century.
